Concert series during the anniversary✨ (1925–2025)

The Thiel Gallery is celebrating 100 years as a museum with a specially designed three-part concert series for the jubilee.  Together with the phenomenal string quartet HYMM, we explore the museum as a living integrated work of art, where music and visual art exist in inseparable symbiosis. It will be a journey in which every note, every brushstroke, and every word are women together to create an experience beyond the ordinary. Several of the composers were contemporaries of the artists represented in the Thiel Gallery's art collection.

String quartet HYMM: Mattias Rodrick, Michael Crafoord, Ylva Magnusson, Henrik Peterson.

About the String Quartet HYMM

The four experienced chamber musicians formed the HYMM string quartet in spring 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. With limited opportunities to perform for audiences during periods of social distancing, they felt a growing desire to delve more deeply into chamber music together, in its most intimate form.

In 2021, HYMM marked the 150th anniversary of Stenhammar's birth with several concerts and a concert film on Youtube. In 2022, supported by Musikverket and the Helge Ax:son Johnson Foundation, the quartet toured with Janáček's Kreutzer Sonata and Intimate Letters together with actor Hannes Meidal. In 2024, HYMM released a recording on CD and Spotify featuring music by Haydn and Mozart together with horn player Johan Ahlin.

HYMM is an acronym formed from the first letters of the musicians first names.
